(More customer reviews)This has worked very well for filleting Chinook (King) salmon and Dolly Varden -- takes and holds a nice edge, balances well; perfect blade shape for filleting large or small fish.If you aren't in the habit of keeping a sharpening steel handy, the included little sharpening tool works well, too.Insert knife into sheath carefully as the blade is thin and flexible and can slip between leather and liner. As ever, I suggest a mesh protective glove if you are doing lots of fish or are particularly tired or a bit of a klutz like me.
