I purchased the Smith abrasives Diamond Edge 3000 Electric knife sharpener and so far am very pleased with the sharp edge I get on all my knives. My wife was even able to sharpen knives and they turned out great and very sharp.I would of liked to see a stronger motor in this unit, but then again maybe it's a good thing that it slows down if too much force is put on the knife when you are sharpening it.I would recomend it to anyone for the kitchen as a must tool there.

Product Description:
The ultimate sharpener and the only blade sharpener you'll ever need, the Smith's Diamond Edge Electric Sharpener does it all, manual or electric, straight or serrated, even scissors. The Diamond Edge has two sharpening features in one tabletop design for sharpening electrically or manually. The electric sharpener has interlocking diamond abrasive wheels that speed up the process by sharpening both sides of the blade at once, sharpening them to a hollow grind that retains its edge longer than flat grinds. Once sharpened the blades of your best knives can be finished in the polishing slot. All the blades in the kitchen can be sharpened on the Diamond Edge Electric Sharpener including scissors, right- or left-handed with the scissor sharpener that pulls out of the side of the machine. Get your dull blades out of the drawer and sharpen them to a razor's edge with the Smith's Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Sharpener, then maintain them regularly for factory sharp blades with every cut.
