first of all i want to clear up a few things about this knife and in fact the whole jim wagner series jim wagner is a foney and has never himself been in a cqb close quarters battle so why he designed a fighting knife ill never know here are some reasons not to buy this knife first off 440 and 440c type steel sucks its fine for a kitchen knife but is a very soft steel and is easly damaged and dulled if you want a knife that will last at go for vg10 or sv30 both of these are high quality steel a blade in this price group should have aus 8 is also decent but not as strong second off i find it rediculas that some one would carry a blade as agressive looking as this one any one who buys this knife is over compansating for something this knife is very bulky and the locking mechinism is not top quality at all as you would trust a boker to have maby a magnum if your willing to spend the 60 or 70 dollers on a knife get some thing quality you can trust your life too spiderco has great knives so does crkt if you realy want a knife to defend your self with get the crkt folding hissatsu its made from better material and is a tru spring assist the spiderco tenatious g 10 is another decent knife for around 40 bucks be smart the only reason people buy this knife is for the looks
